Wellcome Trust Genome Campus

Facilities Management Home Page

Hinxton Hall Ltd (HHL) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Wellcome Trust which is one of the biggest medical funding charities in the world.

As a registered charity in its own right, HHL has a legal duty to ‘advance the education of the public, in particular, advancing scientific and medical education and research (and the publication of the useful results of such research) with particular reference to the human genome by the provision of facilities for research, conferences, seminars and training on the Hinxton Estate’.

The way HHL fulfils its legal duty is twofold. Firstly it provides facilities management services to the organisations based on the Wellcome Trust Genome Campus through ‘Genome Campus FM’ and secondly it provides the world class Wellcome Trust Conference Centre. It also has a small Corporate Department that deals with central services such as finance, insurance and data protection.

HHL came into being in May 1995, had a small turnover and a handful of staff. As the size and complexity of the Genome Campus has risen HHL has itself got larger and now has a staff complement of over 30 staff.
