Wellcome Trust Facilities Management Team

The Facilities Management team is wholly responsible for managing the Campus at Hinxton. Involved in the ongoing maintenance of the site, the team is split into the five main areas of Security, Catering & Services, Maintenance & Engineering and Grounds, where a manager, who in turn manages the main contractors for each section, heads each of these areas. Located in Hinxton Hall, the managers deal with the both the hard and soft services on site, ensuring that these key services run smoothly and efficiently.

The Facilities Team is lead by the Head of Facilities Management who has overall responsibility for the Campus Service Provisions and governance of the Campus for the Wellcome Trust. This allows the clients on site to concentrate on their core business, which has included being at the forefront of research into the human genome - the map of life. 

When the current Head of FM was appointed in the summer of 2003, his initial task was to undertake a review of the FM team and service provision. Recommendations were made to create a professional structured team that would be capable of delivering a high quality service to the expanded Campus. To this end the Head of FM now has four direct reporting staff who manage their particular areas of expertise. This team is supported by an FM Coordinator and an FM Administrator.
